Dog-Friendly Places to Explore In and Around Wylder

Some adventures require little more than a leash and a willing four-legged companion. At Wylder, dog-friendly living starts close to home, with neighborhood dog parks and interconnected pathways that make getting outside part of the everyday routine. When you are ready to venture farther, Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast offer plenty more places worth exploring.

1. Brystol Dog Park at Wylder

For Brystol residents, playtime is built right into the neighborhood. The resident dog park gives four-legged neighbors their own place to run, play and socialize, while nearby lakes, natural areas and Wylder’s interconnected pathways provide even more reasons to get outside. Brystol’s amenity program specifically includes a dog park as part of its family-forward, outdoor lifestyle.

Best for: Everyday play without leaving the neighborhood.

2. Waverly at Wylder

Waverly was also planned with dogs in mind. The neighborhood includes its own dog park, along with scenic lakes, preserved wetlands and access to Wylder’s interconnected pathway network.

Best for: A walk close to home followed by some off-leash play.

3. Walton Rocks Beach Dog Park

For the pup who prefers sand underfoot, head east to Walton Rocks. The dog-friendly beach offers nearly 25 acres where dogs can enjoy the shoreline and Atlantic Ocean off leash.

Best for: Beach days, swimming and room to run.

4. Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens

Slow things down with a leashed stroll through landscaped gardens and waterside surroundings. It is an easy option when the day’s adventure calls for scenery rather than a full-speed dog park.

Best for: Relaxed morning or afternoon walks.

5. Downtown Fort Pierce Waterfront

Take the outing beyond the dog park with a walk along the Fort Pierce waterfront. Explore the marina area, enjoy views of the Indian River Lagoon and look for pet-friendly patios when it is time for a break.

Best for: A walk, waterfront scenery and an afternoon out together.

The Wyld Side Is Dog-Friendly, Too

One of the advantages of Wylder’s 2,441-acre master plan is that outdoor living is not limited to a single destination. Pathways, lakes, natural areas and neighborhood-specific amenities are woven throughout the community, creating more ways for residents, including the four-legged ones, to spend time outside.
